I found a 1.7-meter diameter external projection sphere in a venue that uses two projectors and only calibrates half of the sphere. If I use this Screenberry, how should I go about calibrating it?

We did similar full sphere external projection setup with 4 projectors. All done using 3D remapping with a 3D Scene node.
For a half sphere another approach would be to have fisheye camera inside the sphere. If it sees the projector image with minimal obstruction - that would work with our auto-calibration.
Auto calibration with a camera from the outside would not work, because the camera needs to see the whole screen.
